Parallelization using Actors in C#
The Actor model is an architectural pattern for parallel and distributed systems, which has gained popularity mainly through the programming language Erlang. The library Akka.NET has been available for a while now, and it enables a completely new approach to parallel programming in C#. Systems using Akka.NET are supposed to be highly performant, self-healing, load-distributing and extensible – these are extensive promises! Olivers gives an introduction to Akka.NET in this talk, covering various features of the package, to help you get started quickly.
Oliver is the training director at DevExpress. He's been writing code for over 20 years, and now he teaches, presents, speaks and lectures about software development and software architecture (sometimes all four at the same time). He has written books, articles and training courses, is a long-time Microsoft MVP, and a regular speaker at technical conferences around the world. http://www.oliversturm.com @olivers
