Frobisher 1 & 2

Introduction to ASP.NET Identity 3

Coding Level 5
Advanced Level 3

Identity management is the unglamorous (yet extremely important) task of managing account information for users (including passwords). In this session we will look at the design of Microsoft’s latest ASP.NET Identity framework for ASP.NET Core. Part of this design allows for customizable storage using any database desired, which we will examine. Next, we will then see how to create users, manage user data and authenticate users. As part of this we will see the configuration options of things such as username, password, and user validation. We conclude with a look at the claims manager feature, which allows bulk assignment of claims to users.
